I refer to the announcement that tenders have been called for an aged care facility in Carnarvon, and I ask: (a) What is the time frame for the tenders to be submitted and finalised; (b) Can the Minister supply detailed plans and diagrams of the facility; (c) Will the facility, as previously announced, still contain 38 beds; (d) What specific services will be offered in the facility; (e) Will the facility cater for dementia patients; (f) What are the time frames for the construction of the facility; and (g) What measures are in place to ensure the facility will be fully staffed, with qualified personnel, to ensure there are no delays once the facility is completed?

(a) Tenders were invited on 14 November 2019 and close on 13 December 2019. The tender evaluation process commences in January 2020 and contract award is estimated to occur by the end of March 2020.
(b) Detailed designs and specifications are available on the Tenders WA website.
(c) Yes.
(d) Residential aged care, respite and palliative care services.
(e) Yes.
(f) Dependent on the outcome of the tender process, construction is anticipated to start in mid 2020 with construction completion anticipated to be the second half of 2021.
(g) The WA Country Health Service has commenced preliminary work to develop a comprehensive transition plan to ensure the facility will be fully operational upon completion. This planning includes the development of a service delivery plan that describes the model of care, staffing and skill profile requirements, training needs and recruitment timeframes.
