TREASURER'S
SHAREHOLDING — ABM RESOURCES AND MEDUSA MINING
203. Mr M. McGOWAN to the
Treasurer:
I have a supplementary question. Is the Treasurer aware that
ABM Resources divested its subsidiary holding, the Dalgaranga tantalum project,
over the course of the last year, during which time he was Treasurer and owned
shares in it; and also has mining applications in relation to a project in
Western Australia called Killi Killi Hills; and does he not think that is a
clear conflict of interest between his public duty and his private
shareholdings?

Dr M.D. NAHAN :
What these people are doing is just throwing muck—throwing muck.

Dr
M.D. NAHAN : Throwing muck. Come on; do it some more! Come on; let's go. This

The SPEAKER :
Members! Right, through the Chair.
Dr M.D. NAHAN : My
information is that the company has one tenement of gold, and that is in the
Northern Territory. One of the problems is that I have a large number of issues
on my plate into which these people opposite have no input. What did they say
about the GST? Nothing. What are they doing about electricity prices and costs?
Nothing.
Several members interjected.
Dr M.D. NAHAN : I
tell people opposite what I will do. To avoid the distraction of the muck they
throw at me and confusing people at this time, I will sell all the shares.
Several members interjected.
Dr
M.D. NAHAN : I do not care what they say, I will sell them. I will sell them
and take the muck off these people!
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Members!
Dr
M.D. NAHAN : This is why we have to keep these people opposite out of
government. These guys are just pure, low-based muckrakers.
