ROE HIGHWAY — EXTENSION
704. Mr B.S. WYATT to the Treasurer:
I have a supplementary question. On the Main Roads WA
website, in respect of the Roe Highway extension, under ''Current status''
it states that the time for construction is dependent on funding. I ask again:
what is the cost of the Roe Highway extension and when will it commence?

AnswerView source ↗

The member for Victoria Park is exactly right; I am glad he
had his ears switched on. The time for construction will depend on funding; the
decision around funding will depend on the final design that we have to come up
with to satisfy the requirements of the EPA. They are the facts. Does the
member for Victoria Park want me to short-circuit the process?
Several members interjected.
Mr T.R. BUSWELL :
It is a very, very sensitive area of Perth. We are very keen to come up with an
appropriate engineering design, and that is what we are going to do.
