I refer to the Minister's answer to question on notice 589, where I asked for the target completion date for replacing all C-series train demisters and to which the Minister responded, "Implementation deadlines are agreed with Alstom considering operational constraints", and I ask: (a) what implementation deadlines have been agreed with Alstom, considering operational restraints, in terms of specific dates for target completion of the demister remediation; (b) noting that the Minister also said "C-series demisters are undergoing a design modification", does this mean that the fix for the demisters is still in the design, not implementation, stage; and (c) why is it taking so long to resolve the demister issue?

(a)-(c)  Demisters have now been switched back on.
The timeframe reflected the need to ensure that the modified design is fully validated before installation, to account for delivery times for the replacement components, and to maintain passenger service continuity during the installation process.
