597. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing the
Minister for Racing and Gaming:
I refer to the proposed
redevelopment of Gloucester Park and the partial sale of the site.
(1) What is the current government
plan for the redevelopment of Gloucester Park?
(2) What state government funds are available for the
redevelopment and where are they located in the budget ?
(3) What area of
the current site is planned to be redeveloped?
(4) What profit is envisaged to be
made from the redevelopment?
(5) Given that
Glousester Park is a harness racing venue, what proportion of the profits will
be made available to harness racing in WA?

(1)–(5) Gloucester
Park is privately owned by the Western Australian Trotting Association and no
funds have been allocated by the state government for the redevelopment. The
honourable member may wish to make inquiries directly with the Western Australian
Trotting Association.
