(2) Can the Minister advise the number of persons/patients who were seen in the Fremantle Hospital Emergency Department with a mental health presentation between 1 August 2010 and 31 July 2011 who died within 14 days of discharge from the Emergency Department?
(3) Can the Minister advise the number of persons/patients who presented to the Fremantle Hospital Emergency Department between 1 August 2010 and 31 July 2011 with a mental health presentation and were admitted to a general ward and died within 14 days of discharge?

(1-3) The Department of Health is unable to provide this information as this requires linkage between inpatient data and death data. This would require lengthy approval processes for access to and use of death data as the Department of Health is not the custodian of this data.
(4) Patients presenting to an Emergency Department for psychiatric issues are assessed and a management plan is put in place. The management may be in the community or in an inpatient setting dependent on a number of factors.
