I refer to the
Dry Season Response Update
of Monday, 9 May 2011 that states that two licensed groundwater users were fined for exceeding their licensed entitlements and ask -
(1) What was the water access entitlement for each license?
(2) Which water resource was each of the licenses extracting from?
(3) For each licence -
(a) how much water was licensed for extraction (in ML);
(b) by how much did they exceed their entitlement (in ML);
(c) what was the value of fine imposed;
(d) has the fine been paid in full;
(e) if no to (3)(d) -
(i) please explain why not; and
(ii) when the Department expects this to occur?
(4) Was this fine as the result of prosecution action, or some other enforcement mechanism?
(5) Have any other licensees been fined?
(6) If yes to (5), please provide the details in response to the questions above.
