In relation to the results of an archaeological excavation on the Esplanade Reserve carried out by Dr Gaye Naughton at the University of Western Australia in 1998, and the resultant report entitled

, I ask:
(a) what archaeological reports have been undertaken at the heritage-listed Perth Esplanade site;
(b) what consideration was given to them in creating the Government plans released on 15 February 2011; and
(c) what further archaeological work will be undertaken before the Government brings in the bulldozers following CHOGM?

a) An Archaeological Assessment was undertaken by Archaeological and Heritage Management Solutions (AHMS) in August 2010. On-site monitoring was undertaken by the archaeologists during the geo-tech and hydrological testing. Intermittent monitoring reports were prepared by the archaeologists and a final report was prepared by AHMS in December 2010.
(b) The Archaeological Report was prepared in August 2010 with the final monitoring report being prepared December 2010. All archaeological reports were undertaken prior to the publication of the Perth Waterfront design.
(c) The relevant archaeological research has been undertaken and archaeological monitoring will occur during excavations of the Esplanade.
