The response details limited grants provided to women's refuges and states that while the Office of Crime Prevention considers applications addressing family and domestic violence, it doesn't specifically target them.

Given that 25 November 2010 sees the launch of the Male Parliamentarians for the Elimination of Violence against Women by the Parliamentary Group on Population and Development, and in relation to crime prevention funding pools within the Minister’s agencies and Departments, I ask:
(a) as males are over-represented in the perpetration of violence against women but under-represented in prevention strategies, what funding, and for what projects, is allocated towards preventing male violence against women in Western Australia; and
(b) what future funding related to victims of crime is intended to be devoted to Violence Against Women prevention programmes?

a) Grants provided to deliver programs to women who have experienced family and domestic violence since 2009-10 are:
i. Nadine's Women's refuge - $4910
ii. Women's Council for FDV Services - $5000
iii. South-West Women's Health and Information Centre - $4000
b) WA Police has no role in procuring specific family and domestic violence services. The Office of Crime Prevention (OCP) coordinates small grants for new community crime prevention activities, including occasional projects targeting family and domestic violence. OCP grants do not specifically target family and domestic violence, however applications to address this issue will continue to be considered alongside other crime prevention applications.
