COOK GOVERNMENT — FABIANISM
1337. Hon BEN DAWKINS to the Leader of the House representing
the Premier:
I
refer to an article by Paul Murray in The West Australian of 24 June
2023 that highlights the tendency of the Labor government to ram through
changes that are radical yet downplayed as modest, which Mr Murray links to the
leftist ideology of Fabian socialism, which ultimately seeks to eradicate
capitalism through the usually deceptive introduction of socialism by stealth.
(1) Is the Premier or any members of his cabinet
members of the Australian Fabians or the UK Fabian Society ; or are any
of the aforementioned people on the Australian Fabians' mailing list?
(2) Does the Premier, having dispensed with moderate
unaligned Labor leaders like Hon Alannah MacTiernan and Hon Mark McGowan,
intend to transform WA into a socialist state through Fabianism?
(3) If no to (1) and (2), given the inherently
deceptive nature of Fabianism, does the Premier acknowledge that those
would be the expected answers if there were a Fabian plot to introduce
socialism by stealth in WA?

Oh, God. Sixteen
months.
(1)–(3) I
do not accept the premise of the question.
