I refer to the Minister's media release dated 10 April 2013 entitled
Major Reform for State's Energy Sector
, and I ask:
(a) does the Government intend to quit the generation of electricity;
(b) if yes to (a):
(i) when is it planned that the Government will quit the generation of electricity;
(ii) does the plan include a mechanism for quitting electricity generation;
(iii) when was this plan created; and
(iv) is this plan contained in a document, and if so, what is the name of the document, what is it dated, who is its author and when was the Minister provided with this document; and
(c) if no to (a):
(i) why is the Minister quoted in

dated 11 April 2013 saying that he did think that the Government would slowly exit generation?

time older assets will be phased out of service. Provided the market structure
delivers future private sector investment in generation equipment that meets
the State's actual electricity needs, then reduced Government investment in
generation has considerable merit.
