The Department of Training and Workforce Development has a range of participation strategies and programs which support the needs of newly arrived Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) youth who may require assistance with literacy. These include:
· career guidance services, through a network of Workforce Development Centres;
· a CaLD Workforce Development Centre media campaign, encouraging people of CaLD backgrounds to access training and career advice through the Workforce Development Centres;
· foundations skills training in English language, literacy and numeracy and access courses;
· targeted funding programs for the engagement and training of groups under-represented in the workforce;
· a workplace assistance booklet,

; and
· the use of interpreters and translators where appropriate.
