DEPARTMENT
OF HOUSING — TENANTS
967. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
minister representing the Minister for Housing:
I refer to reports received by my office from Belmont
community advocacy groups, which indicate that a number of Department of
Housing tenants have been evicted or threatened with eviction from their
properties due to their inability to pay for water charges that have been
rolled into their rental accounts.
(1) Is the
minister aware of any evictions or pending evictions in the East Metropolitan
Region that have resulted from a tenant's inability to pay a water
bill?
(2) If yes to (1) —
(a) how many
evictions have occurred on these grounds; and
(b) how many
tenants are at risk of eviction on these grounds?
