As a consequence of the Geraldton Southern Transport Corridor, the Caravan Park has been closed. Apart from land required for this project, the vested land remains under the management of the City of Geraldton. In September 2002, Council resolved to support a draft master plan to establish a proposed Marine Eduction Training Industry Research Centre on the former Caravan Park site. Discussions in this regard are continuing between TAFE, the City of Geraldton and the Department of Land Administration. Questions about the Council's consultation should be directed to the City of Geraldton. (2) Main Roads is not aware of the negotiations referred to by the Honourable Member. As indicated above, it has always been Main Roads position that land not associated with the project would be managed by others, such as the City of Geraldton (3) – (4) Main Roads is not aware of the “lease agreement” referred to and it has always been Main Roads position that land not associated with the project would be managed by others, such as the City of Geraldton.
