(1) WA Health only uses Established FTE and vacancy data to identify and manage current and immediate staffing needs. Actual FTE is the approved method of reporting staffing levels to Parliament, Government, and the Department of Treasury.
Historical data for 2010 and 2011 is unable to be provided due to a data reform process that occurred more recently than these dates. Allocation of paediatricians in the South West region is unable to be provided, as explained, however the actual paid FTE as at September 2012 is 7.24.
(2)(a-b) In relation to (1), WA Health is only able to report on employees of WA Health and therefore the figure provided is for the public health system only.
(3) No waiting times for an appointment with a paediatrician are kept for the South West region as there are no paediatric outpatient clinics at the Bunbury Hospital - referrals are made directly to the paediatricians at their private rooms.
Please note: Princess Margaret Hospital for Children categorise wait times according to graded priority. The Child and Adolescent Community Health Child Development Service has a single wait time to see developmental cases. See tables below:
