I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) No central record is kept of the number of TAFE designated staff involved in the teaching of children in schools. There are a small number of instances where this occurs. (2) Yes. Students attend TAFE as part of their vocational educational and training in schools program. There has been a significant increase during 2003. (3) Yes. (4) The amalgamation of the Departments of Education and Training will improve the access of 15 to 19-year-olds to relevant pathways by maximising student access to public resources. This will mean greater interaction between schools and TAFE colleges and will increase the number of students attending both school and TAFE.
