I refer to Legislative Council
question on notice 1538 answered on 12 September 2023 regarding the
Consolidated Emergency Services Act.
(1) Which external stakeholders
have been exposed to the draft bill to date?
(2) How is DFES engaging with
volunteer associations in respect to the draft bill?
(3) Has the
interagency working group, which was formed to provide advice on the

I thank the

(1)–(4) The Department of Fire and Emergency Services
continues to engage with internal committees and external stakeholders
on relevant parts of the bill as part of the regular drafting process. DFES
engages with volunteers through forums and meetings, and also through their
respective volunteer associations in relation to the status of the draft bill.
There will be extensive consultation on the exposure draft bill.
