SURGICAL PROCEDURES — COLLIE AND BUNBURY HOSPITALS
757. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the minister
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the answer provided to my
question last week about surgical procedures being transferred from Collie Hospital
to Bunbury Hospital. Can the minister now address the part of my question that
asked: what is the reason for this change?

I thank the member for some notice
of this question.
In the interest of patient safety,
WA Country Health Service continually reviews the scope of surgical procedures
delivered in small hospitals. As a result of a review, tonsillectomy services
were transferred to Bunbury Hospital.
