WESTERN ROCK LOBSTER
FISHERY — REFORM
543. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the minister representing the
Minister for Fisheries:
I refer to the media statement on 23
May regarding the government's failure to reach an agreement with the
rock lobster industry to increase the domestic rock lobster supply.
(1) How many
meetings have been held by the Premier's rock lobster task force since
it was formed on 8 February?
(2) How many
meetings have been held by the rock lobster working group since 8 February?
(3) Has the
Western Rock lobster industry submitted any alternative proposals to government
to increase the local lobster supply and can the minister provide copies of
these proposals?
(4) Does the
government still intend to push through any reforms to the Western Rock lobster
industry without industry support?
