832. Hon ROBIN SCOTT to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
(1) Will the
minister confirm that in March 2018 the minister announced a $3 million
commitment for a magnetic resonance imaging machine at the Kalgoorlie Health
Campus subject to a Medicare licence being issued by the commonwealth?
(2) Will the
minister confirm that Minister Hunt announced on 22 June that the federal
government will provide a Medicare-eligible licence at Kalgoorlie?
(3) Will the
minister confirm that Minister Hunt stated, ''Senator Peter Georgiou
made significant representations in support of this licence''?
(4) Will the
minister confirm that from the date of placement of an order, a complete MRI
machine, together with a Faraday cage and water-cooling system, can be
installed in 16 weeks?
(5) When will
tenders be invited, and when does the minister intend that an order will be
placed?

(4)–(5) Procurement
installation, which requires significant capital works to house the MRI
machine, and commissioning of the MRI machine could be achieved within 30
months of a budget decision.
