Housing—Nimitz Estate, Exmouth
207. Mr David Bolt to
the Minister for Gascoyne:
(1) Given the severe lack of housing in Exmouth,
is the minister aware of the urgent need for the state government to release
the land known as Nimitz estate?
(2) If yes to (1), when can the town expect the land
release to occur, given the town expected the government to release the land in
June last year?
(3) If no to (1), as the Minister for Gascoyne, will
the minister urgently follow up on this matter?

AnswerView source ↗

(1)–(3) I thank the member for the
question. Yes, I have been lucky enough to go to the Gascoyne a number of times
already since my appointment as the Minister for Gascoyne. I understand the limitations
of housing development in Exmouth and I have spoken to my ministerial
colleagues about that, but in terms of the release of lands, the member will
need to speak to the minister responsible for that.

The Speaker: Members! Would you like to have a supplementary
question or not? Supplementary question, member for Murray–Wellington.
