GOLDEN MILE LOOPLINE RAILWAY SOCIETY
1367. Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for
Regional Development:
I
refer to the minister's answer to question without notice 1307 in
relation to the Golden Mile Loopline railway.
(1) Has the minister or his department received a fully
audited acquittal for the $400 000 in government funds granted to the project
so far; and, if not, why not?
(2) Has the minister or his department been advised
of the reasons for the general manager's resignation; and, if so —
(a) who provided the advice; and
(b) what were the reasons for the resignation?
(3) Has the minister or his department been advised
of concerns about the processes used for expending the allocated government
funding; and, if so —
(a) is an inquiry underway; and
(b) have any matters been referred to the
Corruption and Crime Commission for further investigation?
(4) If no to any part of (3), will the minister
undertake to have his department make inquiries of all staff and committee
members of the Loopline railway; and, if not, why not?

(1) No. The
deliverables set out in the financial assistance agreement are yet to be
completed. It is anticipated that a fully audited acquittal process will be
completed by 31 January 2017.
(2)–(3) No.
(a)–(b) Not applicable.
(4) The
Department of Regional Development is confident that the grant administration
and project management mechanisms being applied to this process are sufficient
to manage risk and deliver on the outcomes required.
