LICENSING — IMPORTED CARS
723. Hon HELEN BULLOCK to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
 (1) Will the Minister for Transport explain
why imported cars can no longer be inspected and registered at regional
licensing centres?
(2) What
recourse do importers have to recover the additional cost to transport vehicles
to Perth for an inspection and registration process that until recently was
available in regional centres?
(3) Will the minister direct that
the policy revert to its previous position; and, if not, why not?

been no change in policy regarding the inspection and licensing of personally
imported vehicles.
