POLITICAL LOBBYISTS — REGISTER
I refer to the “Liberal Plan for the First 100 Days of Government”, whereby, under the heading “Accountability”, it undertook to legislate for a proper register to monitor the activities of political lobbyists. (1) When will the government introduce this legislation into Parliament? (2) Why has the government said that it will not support recommendation 3 of the tenth report of the Legislative Assembly Education and Health Standing Committee entitled “Alcohol: Reducing the Harm and Curbing the Culture of Excess”, which recommendation states — By December 2011, the Premier should require all industry associations, such as the Australian Hotels Association, to be registered on the State’s lobbyist register. Hon DONNA FARAGHER
