ALCOA - SUPPLEMENTARY PROPERTY PURCHASE PROGRAM
I refer to the Aluminium Company of America - locally known as Alcoa - and the government of Western Australia’s proposed supplementary property purchase program, which aims to compensate residents living in the polluted air shed of the recently expanded Wagerup alumina refinery. (1) Can the minister confirm that the cut-off date for the owners of subject properties to nominate their decision to partake in the SPP program is still 4 April 2007? (2) When will the terms of reference for schedule 3 of the deed of undertaking be tabled in Parliament? (3) Why have these terms of reference, which are critical to the process, been delayed? (4) What steps will the government take to resolve these anomalies and review the time line for these arrangements? Hon KATE DOUST
