I thank the member for some notice
of this question.
(1) Tele-psychiatry,
referred to as tele–mental health, in practice, is currently available
in Margaret River through the community mental health service.
(2) Community
mental health services, which will include the provision of psychiatric services,
will be provided on-site at the new Busselton health campus.
(3) For 2014–15
to date, there have been 181 occasions of service. Currently, 32 wheatbelt
health services have telehealth facilities that are used to provide tele–mental
health services. The towns are Beverley, Bindoon, Boddington, Bruce Rock,
Corrigin, Cunderdin, Dalwallinu, Dumbleyung, Gingin, Goomalling, Jurien Bay,
Kellerberrin, Kondinin, Kukerin, Kulin, Kununoppin, Lake Grace, Merredin,
Moora, Mukinbudin, Narembeen, Narrogin, Northam, Pingelly, Quairading, Southern
Cross, Wagin, Wickepin, Williams, Wongan Hills, Wyalkatchem and York.
(4) There are
no specific measures implemented for tele–mental health patients that
are different from monitoring outcomes for other patients. Tele–mental
health is integrated with all other aspects of psychiatry and mental health
service provision.
