secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I
refer to the minister's statement in the other place on 10 September 2025 that 5,000
new nurses and 1,900 new doctors have been employed by the Western Australian government since 2021.
(1) How many of those additional
staff were employed as a result of the transition of operational responsibility
for Peel Health Campus from Ramsay Health Care to the South Metropolitan Health
Service?
(2) Are there any other nurse or
doctor positions in the numbers quoted on 10 September that are the result of
the transfer of operational responsibilities?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. The following answer has been provided by the Minister for
Health.
(1)–(2) The state
government has added over 5,000 nurses and 1,900 doctors to the WA health
system since 2021.
This includes 646 nurse and
medical headcount, of which 623 were part of the transition of Peel Health
Campus and 23 as part of the transition of the Cockburn clinic.
