On behalf of the Minister for Police, I thank the honourable
member for some notice of the question.
(1) The police
presence at Bibra Lake today was in response to
police intelligence and to ensure that members of the public going about their
lawful business were not impeded by protesters.
(2) Police
encountered approximately 60 protesters at that location who were sitting down
in front of heavy machinery at the site, obstructing work.
(3) Approximately 37 police officers
were in attendance at the site.
(4) This forms part of the Western
Australia Police budget.
