In 2008 the Liberal Party, in its election arts policy, committed to conducting an urgent review of potential sites for a new home for the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) which would include the cultural centre and Perth Foreshore Concert Hall precincts. It was stated that facilities for WASO would include a rehearsal venue, chamber music auditorium and administration facilities. Given that it is nearly two years since this commitment, what urgent progress has the Minister made?

The Western Australian Symphony Orchestra has advised this Government that the best site for its future home would be the Perth Concert Hall.
To this end, the Orchestra has been and is currently developing plans (and will present this to me when they are ready.)
This government also has moved to replace $4.353 million Labor took from WASO's accommodation relocation funding order to falsely boost library funding in 2008-09.
