PERTH STADIUM — CONSTRUCTION —
ASBESTOS
752. Hon KATE DOUST to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Sport and Recreation:
I refer to answers given to question 970 on 16 September 2014 and
question 1301 on 25 November 2014. Can the minister guarantee that no asbestos
products or materials have been or are located on the new Perth Stadium
construction site?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
No product containing asbestos has
been used as part of the construction of Perth Stadium. All materials imported
from overseas for use in the construction of Perth Stadium have been
independently tested and no asbestos has been identified. In conjunction with
the construction contractor Brookfield Multiplex, the state project team will
continue to monitor all construction materials supplied, including samples, and
ensure independent testing is undertaken.
