I understand that 000 calls from Perth go to Sydney and are then diverted back to Perth where they are diverted to relevant sub centres. (1) Can the minister confirm that there is to be a new 000 emergency call system for medical emergencies? (2) Can the minister outline any significant changes to the current system? (3) Would a new system maintain the current procedures, such as those that operate in Bridgetown where calls are diverted to the local hospital from where the ambulance is called, or will ambulances be called from a central call centre? (4) If ambulances are to be called from a central call centre, will this increase the risk of ambulance delay due to a lack of familiarity with Western Australia’s geography by people working in those call centres? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH
