LINK — SOIL CONTAMINATION
988. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to PFAS-contaminated soil
excavated from the Forrestfield–Airport Link project and the answer to
question without notice 854 asked by me on 15 August 2019. In relation to the
material transferred to the NorthLink project, I ask the following.
(1) From whom did
the Public Transport Authority receive consideration for the material, exactly
how much was paid and for what volume?
(2) To whom did
the PTA pay the $250 000 contribution towards transport of the fill and to
exactly how much material did this payment apply?
(3) Who was the
Main Roads contractor and to whom did that contractor pay the amount in the
order of $200 000 for the material?
(4) How much exactly was paid to
that contractor?
(5) What was the
volume of material for which the payment was made and was the payment only for
material or for material and transport?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided by the
Minister for Transport.
(1) The Public Transport Authority
did not receive payment for the soil.
(2)–(5) The
PTA has paid $250 000 to the PTA's Forrestfield–Airport Link
main works contractor for the transport of 30 000 cubic metres of fill material
to the NorthLink project.
Great Northern Connect, the Main
Roads WA main works contractor, paid the PTA's FAL main works
contractor in the order of $200 000 towards the material of approximately 30 000
cubic metres of soil to the NorthLink project.
