508. Hon WILSON TUCKER to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the
nurse practitioner and team-based care pilot program, announced on 20 February
2023.
(1) Of the 20
positions originally promised, how many have been filled to date?
(2) What is the
location or region of each position filled?
(3) How many
nurse practitioners are currently endorsed in Western Australia?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided by the
Minister for Health.
(1) To date, 10 nurse practitioner placements have
commenced, with additional placements still being assessed.
(2) Placements
have been made in primary care services across the Perth metropolitan area as
well as the Peel, wheatbelt and great southern regions.
(3) As of 31
December 2023, 331 nurse practitioners were endorsed in Western Australia. This
does not include endorsements that occurred after this date.
