(2) Is the Minister aware the City of Belmont and Belmont City College have identified a critical need to improve services supporting Belmont’s Cultural and Linguistically Diverse community?
(3) Will the Minister provide more support services for students with language and cultural issues in the Belmont area; and

(1) No. There is no partnership at this point between Belmont City College and the City of Belmont to address Cultural and Linguistically Diverse needs.
(2) Yes. These two organisations have identified a need for improved support within the Belmont community for the Cultural and Linguistically Diverse population.
(3) The Department of Education is currently collecting data to determine funding and services for English as a Second Language students.
(a) Not applicable.
(4) These services are comparable with other districts that have emerging cohorts of Cultural and Linguistically Diverse communities.

(5) In 2010, Belmont City College will receive additional staffing in the form of an English as a Second Language Specialist teacher.
