WORKSAFE — INSPECTORS
282. Hon KATE DOUST to the Minister for
Commerce:
Can the minister please list the number of WorkSafe inspectors for each of the industry groups they are assigned to?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
WorkSafe inspectors are not necessarily allocated to
industry groups. The reporting structures for inspectors by title and number
are as follows: manufacturing and wholesale, 11; transport and retail, 13;
service industries, 12; plant and engineering, six; occupational hygiene and
noise control, five; health, education and community services, four; human
factors and ergonomics, six; construction, 15; regional and primary industries,
nine; and audit and special investigations, three. The three operational
directors are also inspectors, and by title and number they are as follows:
manufacturing, transport and service industries directorate, one; health
hazards and plant safety directorate, one; and construction, regional and
primary industries directorate, one.
