Main Roads WA
advises:
(1) Main Roads WA has over 25 permit products requiring varying degrees of staff assessment. Main Roads endeavours to process all permit applications within 24 hours of receival during normal business hours.
(2) WA allows heavier, wider and higher loads and better road access than any of the other States which gives a significant productivity benefit to WA industry. To help industry cater for the uncertainty of scheduling the movement of large loads, Main Roads provides a permit refund if the permit is cancelled within the four week period of validity. This refund option is not available in other jurisdictions.
(3) Main Roads WA is developing an online permitting system which is expected to be launched in late 2011. The initiative is yet another example of the Liberal-National Government's commitment to a better transport industry which was neglected under the previous Government.
