I refer to my questions asked throughout 2024 in relation to a letter addressed to the Premier from Mr Craig Peacock, dated 23 January 2024, arising from the Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission’s report of 27 November 2023 correcting the errors and omissions contained in the Corruption and Crime Commission’s report of 12 March 2019, and I ask: (a) does the Premier recall that on 19 March 2024 he confirmed he had received this letter; (b) does the Premier recall during an interview with Nadia Mitsopoulos on ABC radio in April 2024, he stated, “we all deserve a response from government, and I will make sure that response is consistent with our legal advice”; (c) on what date did the Premier receive that advice; (d) has the Premier since provided a response to Mr Peacock; (e) if yes to (d), on what date; and (f) if no to (d), why not?

(a – f) The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation, as the former employer of Mr Peacock, provided a response on 21 August 2024. The Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission corrigendum referred to by the Member stated that there was no basis to dispute the Commission’s opinion of serious misconduct, therefore, there is no change to the Government’s response.
