Minister for Transport:
I refer to answers to question
without notice 884 asked on 29 November 2017 regarding planning for new
maritime infrastructure for Broome.
(1) Since 29 November 2017, how many
times has the Broome Boat Harbour Advisory Group met?
(2) What
progress has been made in developing a scope of inclusions for the planning of
new maritime infrastructure?
(3) What portion of the $1 million
allocated to this project has been spent?
(4) Which agency is holding these funds?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Nil.
(2) The Broome
Boat Harbour Advisory Group has identified a site for further investigation
near Entrance Point. The Department of Transport has deployed wave and current
collection instruments and has collected metocean data over the recent cyclone
season. A heritage survey has also been completed.
(3) Five per cent of the allocation
has been spent.
(4) The Department of Transport is
holding these funds.
