❓ Hon. Darren West questions the Minister regarding funding consistency for Midwest Men's Health, given the closure of the service and existing funding for Wheatbelt Men's Health through Royalties for Regions. The Minister clarifies that funding is provided through a strategic alliance, supplementing existing funding, not replacing it.

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) Royalties
for regions has provided funding through the Department of Agriculture and Food
in support of the regional men's health initiative run by Wheatbelt Men's
Health. Under the regional men's health initiative, Wheatbelt Men's
Health has established a strategic alliance with a number of regional men's
health groups, including the Midwest Men's Health group. Under the
regional men's health initiative, part funding is provided to
supplement the activities of the Midwest Men's Health group and other
men's health groups across the state. Funding under the alliance does
not replace base funding provided by other relevant state and federal agencies
with responsibilities in this area, but supports joint promotion and delivery
of regional men's health initiative programs such as Fast Track and Pit
Stop, community education sessions and promotion to local community groups.
(2) Royalties for regions does not directly fund all regional
men's health groups.
(3)–(4) Not applicable.
