MAGELLAN METALS — STOP ORDERS
I refer the minister to the stop orders that were recently issued against Magellan Metals. (1) Will the minister table the stop order issued on 31 December? (2) If no to (1), why not? (3) Will the minister table all correspondence between Magellan Metals and the Office of the Environmental Protection Authority regarding the stop orders issued on 31 December 2010 and 18 February 2011? (4) If no to (3), why not? Hon HELEN MORTON

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1)–(4) I table the stop order issued on 31 December 2010, and the order issued on 3 January 2011 pursuant to the Environmental Protection Act 1986. No stop order was placed on Magellan Metals by the Minister for Environment on 18 February 2011 pursuant to the Environmental Protection Act 1986. The information requested by the member is currently subject to an investigation being undertaken by the Office of the Environmental Protection Authority. Given that the matter is under investigation, it is not appropriate to provide documentation at this time. [See paper 3124.]
