I refer the Premier to media reports this week that he recently appointed former South Australian Labor Party minister Barbara Wiese as a member of his senior staff in a role that involves liaison with business. (1) Can the Premier confirm this report; and if so, at what level has Ms Wiese been appointed and what is her approximate remuneration? (2) Can the Premier also confirm that Ms Wiese is president of Labor Business Roundtable, which is responsible for raising funds for the ALP through functions with the Western Australian business community? (3) Will the Premier acknowledge that the same person being responsible for Labor Party fundraising and a policy role in his office that involves close contact with the business community represents a serious conflict of interest?
