(c) and (d) From 1 July 2003, the Insurance Commission of WA will introduce a dual premium scheme for third party insurance premiums. Mobile caravans (that are not over 4.5 tonnes) used for private purposes will be eligible for a private rate of premium. For these vehicles, the new registration form will show payment options for ‘Private Rate’ or ‘Standard Rate’. Mobile caravans may be eligible for the lower insurance premium but are not eligible for the family discount on licence fees. (e) Registration forms for vehicles expiring on or after 30 June 2003 will show the classification of ‘Private Rate’ or ‘Standard Rate’ for mobile caravans.

(a) and (b) Mobile caravans are not eligible for the family rebate on vehicle licence fees, as they already receive a 50% reduction in licence fees. On the registration form they are currently classified within the non-family ‘Standard Rate’ payment option.
