POLICE — MOBILE DRUG-TESTING MACHINES
739. Hon MARTIN PRITCHARD to the Attorney
General representing the Minister for Police:
How many mobile drug-testing
machines are based in each of the metropolitan and regional police districts?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
On behalf of the Attorney General, I
advise that the current equipment utilised for the secondary evidentiary test
is the Drger 5000—whatever that is! There
are 10 machines operated by breath and drug operations, which operate primarily
in the metropolitan area and are deployed to regional WA during operations. A
further 10 machines are operated by districts in regional WA, with machines
available in each of the seven regional WA districts.
