Site works are expected to commence mid-2015. All construction works are expected to be completed by mid-2016.
Main Roads will work closely with the contractor to develop construction staging and associated temporary traffic management arrangements which seek to minimise delays and congestion.
Measures will include:
· Providing advance notice of temporary traffic management arrangements (newspapers, letter drop, construction reference group etc.);
· Utilising night time / off-peak works where appropriate;
· Limiting the temporary closure of traffic lanes;
· No temporary lane closures on Mitchell Freeway during peak times;
· Making special provision for sports events, cultural events and public holiday weekends; and
· Adopting construction methods and techniques which minimise the duration of construction impacts.
