Approximately 150,000 government sector employees (public sector, WA Police Officers and government trading enterprises) were part of Group 1 and 2 under the mandatory vaccination direction.
The Public Sector Commission collected aggregate information on actions taken and outcomes of disciplinary processes related to the mandatory vaccination direction from public sector agencies at certain reference dates between 1 December 2021 and 12 September 2022.
(a) 89 employees were reported as being excluded from work as at 12 September 2022.
“Stood down” is not a term used by the Public Sector Commission. The number was calculated on employees who were excluded from the workforce (with pay, without pay or on accrued paid leave) as a result of not complying with the relevant Health Direction.
The collection of this information was designed to provide an overview of progress in relation to the mandatory vaccination directions at certain reference dates and was not collected cumulatively due to the complexity of the daily fluctuations.
(b) Between 1 December 2021 and 12 September 2022, 458 employees (representing approximately 0.30 per cent of government sector employees) were reported as having had their employment terminated, where the reason for termination was related to compliance with mandatory vaccination directions.
(c) Between 1 December 2021 and 12 September 2022, 344 employees (representing approximately 0.23 per cent of government sector employees) were reported as having resigned, where the reason for resignation was related to mandatory vaccination directions.
