Qantas charter flight—Government funding
910. Hon Anthony Spagnolo to the minister representing the Minister for Tourism:
I refer to Qantas Boeing
charter flight 7879 that departed Perth for Los Angeles on 14 October at
approximately 2:30 am.
(1) Was this charter flight fully or partially
funded by the Western Australian government?
(2) Did this flight include any individuals who
performed in the WWE event held in Perth between Friday 10 October and Monday
13 October?
(3) If yes to (2), which performers were included
on that flight?
(4) Does the minister consider it appropriate that
taxpayers' money may have been used to fly global entertainers across the world
while ordinary Western Australians are cutting back on essentials just to make
ends meet?
