In reference to the road from Newman via Nullagine to Marble Bar:
(a) in what locations are traffic counters currently in place on this road route;
(b) what indicative traffic numbers are available from current traffic counts along this road;
(c) if no counters are currently in place, will consideration be given to urgently installing these units to assess traffic numbers along this route;
(d) when were traffic counters last in place along this road route, and what historical data is available about traffic usage of this main road; and
(e) what Main Roads Western Australia information about traffic volume along this road route forms the basis for allocating just minor funding for what appears to be a major maintenance and upgrade task – a task to make safe an increasingly busy road on which heavy traffic from the resources sector is now competing with very high volume local and other visitor traffic?
