(a - b) Eight child and adolescent mental health beds (Ward 4H) at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH) were initially closed on 24 March 2016 with patients transferred to the Bentley Adolescent Unit (BAU).
A decision has been made to continue to operate Ward 4H and BAU as a single integrated inpatient unit out of BAU until the move to Perth Children’s Hospital. BAU is fully staffed with an appropriate skill mix for all shifts and the patient cohort is stable.
At Armadale Hospital one adult mental health bed closure occurred for maintenance from 11 February to 11 March 2016.
Four adult mental health bed closures occurred at Royal Perth Hospital to enable refurbishments and environmental improvements to the patient care areas. The beds were closed from 22 March to 31 March 2016 and from 4 April to 8 April 2016.
At Rockingham General Hospital Mental Health Inpatient Unit (Mimidi Park) four older adult mental health bed are closed to reflect modelled activity allocations.
