PERTH
STADIUM
1301. Hon KATE DOUST to the minister
representing the Minister for Sport and Recreation:
I refer to question without notice
970, asked on 16 September 2014, concerning the construction of the Perth Stadium.
What regulations or codes of practice are in place to ensure that material
brought in is analysed for the presence of asbestos?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
The design, build, finance, maintain
contractor is managing the DBFM site in accordance with the construction
environmental management plan, which includes a detailed asbestos management
procedure. Any asbestos brought on to or identified on the site must be removed
in accordance with Worksafe WA requirements and the
code of practice for the safe removal of asbestos—NOHSC:2002(2005).
