(1) Does the Department of Education track the duration of time for which individual school teachers work within WA public schools? (2) If ‘Yes’ to (1), as at the first day of school in 2025, what is the total number of WA public school teachers who had worked within the WA public school system for: (a) 0 to 5 continuous years; (b) 6 to 10 continuous years (including long-service and other types of leave); (c) 11 to 20 continuous years (including long-service and other types of leave); and (d) More than 20 continuous years (including long-service and other types of leave)? (3) What is the percentage breakdown of each of the answers to (2) as a proportion of the total WA public school teacher workforce ?

(1) As at 13 February 2025, the Department of Education employed more than 50,000 people. Information on years of service is recorded at the individual level and accurately compiling it in the requested format would require substantial work.
